Education and Professional Background:

Duncan is an experienced and accomplished senior executive with over twenty-eight years’ track record of consistent achievement in banking, corporate finance, operations, impact investing and general management

He holds Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from Oxford Brookes University with a major in computing and retail management and certifications in investment management and financial advisers. He is a Common Purpose Fellow, a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, and member of the Life Insurance Association by Diploma [MLIA dip].

Duncan is currently the Chief Executive Officer, Trade Catalyst Africa Ltd, Kenya. He has among other roles previously worked as Chief Executive Officer, Pharo Ventures East Africa, Kenya; Team Leader & Investment Lead – Sustainable Urban Economic Development Programme (SUED);  Regional Director – East Africa, Acumen Fund Inc, New York; Group Chief Finance Officer, Rift Valley Railways, Kenya & Uganda and Managing Director and Principal Consultant, Quantum Africa, Kenya.

Duncan currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of KIFFWA Ltd (Kenya Innovative Finance Facility for Water) and Board Member of Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund (AECF). He has previously served on the Board of Trademark East Africa, Kenya Markets Trust, and East Africa Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (EAVCA).
